Two Islands Meet (Shannon, Martin and Lucy) had a fantastic year in 2021, running our Wee Blue Dream self-catering log cabin Pitlochry
For the first time. We met so many lovely and interesting people, from a whole variety of cultures and countries. And we were honoured that some of our NHS heroes chose to spend some time with us to rest and recover.
Some guests were passing through on their way north or on their way back home, and several chose Pitlochry as a base for a range of adventures – cycling, canoeing, hillwalking and car touring.
Lots of our guests came by public transport too, proving that you can still tour Scotland in a low carbon way.
Of course any visitors who travel by EV can make use of our Type 2 EV charge point and our 100% renewable electricity supply.
To reduce the carbon footprint of our guest even further (even after using our Air Source Heat Pump for all their hot water, and locally sourced firewood for heating) we will this spring be planting a native tree for each and every one of our guests – Barny, yours is an oak!
We know that we can never stay still, so this year we are making a few minor changes to improve what we think is an already terrific place to stay.
We have replaced our dated original “Tiny TV ” with a slightly larger and more energy efficient smart TV, with Amazon Prime and Netflix still included.

There is also a new wall mounted fan heater for a quick blast of warm air when the wood burner is too much hassle.
And last but not least, we are installing a wood pellet fired pizza oven (pellets provided of course) beside our gas fired BBQ to make our outdoor kitchen even better.
So we are really looking forward to opening on 1 March 2022 (the year of the tiger) to welcome new friends, and hopefully meet some of our old friends again.
